BALI
14th – 15th March 2014
Hi folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com ( the original Bali surf report website since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions your going to find. From right here on the best value for hard earned tropical surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
Yesterday we kicked off our day with the mandatory 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs to find a clean and tidy 2-3ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left & Right with the occasional bigger set hitting Middle Reef. Wind direction was a light SE – SSE and off shore.
But hey as it shows in our new photo gallery we were on location down at Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving at 8.30AM to find solid 3-5 footers with the odd bigger freak set hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections. The tide was just running up to the top of the high so Racetrack was too fat. Once again the local surfers were putting on a solid display of tube riding with Made Adi Putra or “Bol” going balistic. This guy has got to be one of, or the best tube riders on the planet. We packed up around 2.00PM just as the tide was staring to pour off the reef and we did miss out on a lot more super hot surfing and tube riding on the top end of the Racetrack. But I still think we did pretty good photo wise.
NB: The very last photo in today’s gallery has a guy paddling through what looks to be like a “sea of plastic” and it is. But the thing is it’s not all plastic shopping bags that we all use to line our garbage bins at home with and then get taken to the rubbish dump. This flotsem and jetsom is mostly comprised of food packaging type plastic. It was also coming through the line up in waves from around the southern tip of the island and East Coast.
Our man from Keramas phoned through at 7.30AM yesterday morning calling in wave height on the manin break at 2-3ft with 15 surfers in the water.
Weather wise it was just another hot and sunny day here on the holiday island of Bali with the midday temperature in the 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Today the 15th and our 6.45AM surfcheck on the Outer Reefs was again putting wave height up there in the chest to head high plus range or 2-4ft. The tide is running in for a 2.2mtr High around 9.45AM so Kuta Reef and Airports were looking the best with surfers out on both breaks. Wind direction was light out of the ENE.
Weather wise outside we’ve got a big blue sky and another fantastic beach day coming on for the lucky ones here. Today also has a Full Moon rising so get ready for some bigger tidal ranges over the next few days.
