BALI
29th – 30th March 2014
Selamet Hari Raya Nypie
Hi everyone and thanks a million for stopping by the baliwaves.com again (keeping you in touch with Bali since 1999) today to see what’s been happening surf and weather wise here on the happy little holiday island that makes Earth Hour look pretty ordinary, Bali. Not too mention that Bali is so loaded with perfect waves it’s not funny, oh yeah and hows that weather as well.
Ok so just a quick one today as it’s just about to turn Nypie o’clock here on the island of the God’s. But what we have for you today in the photo department is 60 plus rad images from up at Canggu here on Bali’s West Coast. We were up there early-ish the last couple of mornings to try and beat the crowd and it just happened that surfing conditions were at their optimum between 6.30 and 9.30AM. The 29th had head to well over head high (solid 4ft) perfect waves on all three of the main breaks from Echo beach through the grinding left hand sand bar and down on the right hander at the river mouth. That same afternoon the Outer reefs here in Tuban were also firing through some nice waves in the chest to head high plus range, with a clean off shore blowing thanks to the Tradey.
Yesterday the 30th and Canggu syill had a few fun sized waves breaking on the right hander but not a lot happening on the sand bar or on Echo Left. The tide was also racing in all morning pushing up for a big 2.5mtr High, so didn’t help.
Weather wise it’s been absolutely perfect ! The mornings have been calm and clear with a light N-NE wind. With the SE -SSE Tradewind commencing anythime around the 9.30AM mark. Temperature wise the midday sun has been brutal, up in the mid 30’s on the Ceslsius scale. So the only place to be, being in the shade or in the barrel.
Swell predictions for the next 7 days are saying something like Monday and Tuesday are delivering even small waves that yesterday maybe 1-2ft and the better known locations facing into the SW. The maybe a half to 1 foot increase through Wednesday. Thursday will bring some relief with a medium size swell arriving through the morning, but starting to back off through Friday. At least this day of waves should open up a good variety of locations to surf at. Continuing to drop off through Saturday and Sunday but we should still be able to find a few waves. Further out there maybe some more waves heading our way Tuesday if we are lucky.
Ok friends have a great day what ever you’ve got on and Selamet Hari Raya Nypie
