Today the 19th and it was time for our last scheduled Bali beach clean up at Jimburan Bay, Kuta beach and Padma St, organised by Quiksilvers Mr Gino Andrias, Coca-Cola and Garuda Indonesia. Ketut and I turned up at Kuta beach and were stoked to see an already solid crew of teams ready to clean up, at least 100 local supporters. Unfortunately I was the only tourist in the Kuta beach crew but I’m sure there would have been a big turn out at the Padma St crew. Many hands make light work, as the saying goes and before we knew it we had achieved our target of cleaning nearly 1km of beach. So a big thank you to everyone that has been involved in these community beach clean ups, and especially to Quiksilvers Gino Andrias, Coca-Cola and Garuda Indonesia for putting it together.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban had wave height in the 2-2ft+ sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were still clean enough for a paddle at 7.00AM but the with the wind already starting to come out of the NW.
Our 2.30PM surf check on the Outers was showing a slight improvement in size with 2-3ft+ waves between KR and AL. Also a nice change in wind direction this afternoon, now coming cleanly out of the ESE and off shore here on the West Coast. It looks like our new swell is still in transit but shouldn’t be too far out. We’ll be back down the beach for a sunset surf check (and maybe a cold smallie or two)
Weather wise it’s been pretty good all morning through to midday with nothing more than a mainly blue sky. There has been some dark rumbling cloud moving in this afternoon and we may be in for a thunder storm and rain, somewhere in Bali. Temperature wise right now at 2.45PM the mercury is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius and the Humidity at 79%. The wind has just now swung back to the WNW @ 2.56PM.
Ok then this will do us for now but tune in again tomorrow afternoon and we should have some “take home” photos for ya’s. Of course a Happy Easter Egg’s, oh yeah and if your coming to Bali make sure you pack a “big smiling face” and some friendly “hello’s” to bring with you, don’t walk around at the beach like a “zombie”
