16th & 17th April 2014
Hi surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves.com again today (Bali’s premier surfing website since 1999) for the latest news and hard to beat views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the real deal, tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so what we’ve got for you so far today is a strong 60+ photo gallery that we shot at Balangan on the 16th and then yesterday the 18th down at Bali’s premeir surfing location of Uluwatu.
Balangan on the 16th was looking pretty good on first sight from up on top of the car park cliff. At 8.45AM there was still only 12 surfers in the water in clean and glassy 3-4ft+ waves. We were hoping to be surfing the run out tide and things were looking good until the on shore wind kicked in, first out of the WNW then a little bit further to the WSW. But the numbers stayed low and as always Balangan put on a fine display.
Yesterday the 17th and our 6.45AM surfing check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing wave height in the 1-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airports. Surfing conditions at the time were clean as glass, no wind and the tide just starting to run back in.
So with that info we headed back down to the Southern end of the island to Uluwatu. Arriving at 9.00AM to see surfing conditions still clean and glassy with a solid 3-4ft+ swell hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections. Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad either and plenty of waves coming through for everyone.
Our man over on Bali’s East Coast phoned through at 6.30AM calling wave height on the main break of Keramas at 1-2ft+ with clean and glassy surfing conditions. I’m sure as the tide crept in wave size would have been picking up an extra foot or two. Already 15 surfers in the water at the time.
News in from Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp was also calling good clean conditions over at G-Land yesterday. By mid morning there were head to double head high plus waves peeling off down through Moneytree’s. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy through the morning before the wind kicked in cross / off shore. Low numbers and good waves at G-Land right now. So if your ready to take your surfing to the next level contact us here at baliwaves.com and you’ll get a sweet 10% discount to help you get there.
Today the 18th and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs was still producing a few waves between Kuta Reet and Airport Left. Two to two foot plus waves with a light Northerly wind at the time.
Weather wise out side right now in Tuban at 9.30AM we have a mostly blue sky over us. Solid cloud banks looking down to the South though and possibly heading our way. Temperature wise the mercury is sitting on 26 degree’s Celsius and the Humidity level at 89%. Wind direction is comin gout of the WNW at 3-6knot.
Bali’s swell forecast is looking red hot for the next 4-5days with a solid swell about to smash into us anytime in the next 24hrs or so. Then non stop waves through until Wednesday. Then there is some more heading our way a little further out. So get start searching for those fares to Bali today.

Starting at 7.00AM sharp at either Jimburan Bay, Kuta beach (turtle conservatorium) or a little further up the beach at Padma st Legian. This is our last scheduled beach clean up as we exit the wet season. Bring ya boardies and bikini’s and surfboards and have a paddle afterwards. Help play a part in keeping Bali’s beaches beautiful.
