14th – 15th April 2014
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (keeping you in touch with Bali since 1999) for the latest news and try and beat views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Yesterday the 14th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was only showing 1-2ft waves between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. So with a rising tide and a N-NW wind we decided to head back up for an easy session at Canggu here on Bali’s West side. You can see how it was in the last 25 or so photos in today’s massive 99 strong photo gallery.
But today the 15th and with our morning surf recon on the Outer’s showing 2-3 footers with a NW wind and rising tide, we knew where we had to be. Pulling into the East coast car park at 8.00AM to find clean and silky waves in the 2-3ft range and even a 4 foot freak set every now and again. The main break was just too crowded and there were better waves breaking where we were. The local surfers from Half Way and Padma st were totally ripping it up, as you can see .
Weather wise today it was a mostly sunny morning through till midday when some big old black clouds filled in and cooled things down for half an hour or so. The wind has started to back off now at 5.00PM and we are hoping for light and variable winds again tomorrow.
Swell forecast for the next 7 days is looking pretty good with more fun sized waves taking us through until a hold onto ya hat type big swell expected around the 19th and then slowly tapering off till another medium swell rolls in on the back of it on the 22nd.
I’ve also loaded up a new Mentawai island surf report and photos sent to us from our friends at the Kandui surf resort, and we’ve also got a G-Land season 2014 intro and photos loaded up (10% discount available). So you can find those reports on their surf report pages of course.
