BALI
3rd April 2014
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (doing our best to bring you a little bit of Bali everyday) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
First up our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a slight improvement in wave height. The tide was still on the bottomg of the Low at the time but Middle Reef was delivering some waist to head high waves and there were a few surfers already out there getting into em.
But our crew headed over to the East coast to see what was going on at Keramas. Pulling into an almost empty car park, things were looking good. We could hear the waves before we could see them so everyone was stoked to see some solid 3-4ft+ waves peeling off. Surfing conditions couldn’t have been much better either with just a breath of off shore wind on glass. Crowd wise it was the now normal 25 – 30 people on the main break so we opted to share the car park section with 3 other surfers, Charlies also had some nice ones. We packed up at 11.30AM as the tide was filling in but there were still plenty of waves coming through but with the wind coming up out of the ESE.
Just a heads up I’m pretty sure later this month there will be a JSA surfing (trials) event being held at Keramas so the main break will be closed to the public. I’ll let you know the dates when I know them.
Latest news from Joyo’s G-Land surf camp was calling wave height over on the long left hander in the head to double head high class. By midday the wind was blowing off shore and the total of 20 surfers in the entire jungle must have been like kids in a candy store
Just contact us first if you’d like a 10% discount and possible up grade into G-Land.
Keeping Bali’s beaches clean. Ok if your in Bali and you want to say you helped out. Then you should turn up this Saturday the 5th and join in with the local beach community and help us keep our beaches beautiful. Kick off time is 7.00AM at either Jimburan beach, Kuta beach meeting at the turtle conservation HQ, or up at Legian beach at the Padma St entrance. So turn up spend an hour or two then go for a surf or swim, too easy.
This morning the 4th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was again showing some fun sized waves on Middle Reef. The tide was too low for Kuta Reef and Airports but Middle’s had some chest to head high waves breaking for the 10-15 surfers already out there.
This mornings surf report from Keramas was calling wave height in the 3-4ft range with clean and calm conditions.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 2.3mtr High at 12.30PM
Weather wise, so far so good this morning it’s been sunny and blue and at 9.30AM the outside temperature is sitting on 26 degree’s Celsius heading more a midday high in the low 30’s. Wind direction was out of the NE but will more than likely start to tend to the East and then SE by early afternoon. There is also some large cloud banks looking down to the South.
