Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com ( doing the rounds in Bali since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, BALI.
Ok so this mornings 7.30Am surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height to have backed off a touch, down to an inconsistent 2-3ft between Kuta reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were very clean and tidy with the wind a light off shore Easterly.
But as photo No.1 indicates we headed South down to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving around 9.00AM to find wave height in the 3-5ft class and not too many in the water. The tide was still running in so the best waves were up on Temple’s and through the Main Peak. We were happily surprised after driving past a pretty near flat top end of the Impossible’s reef. Surfing conditions down at Ulu were also as good as it gets with the wind still coming out of the East. As the tide tipped the top the wind also started to perk up out of the West so it was lunch at Surya’s Warung and then hit the highway before the Sunday afternoon traffic starts flowing down to the bukit.
The last handful of photos were taken down at Balangan yesterday morning. 2-4ft waves with a light on shore wind till early afternoon.
Our man over on the East coast phoned through at 6.30AM this morning calling in wave height on Keramas in the 3-5ft range. Clean surfing conditions and only a couple of takers in the water on the wrong end of the tide.
Today’s G-Land surf report thanks to Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp was calling 3-4ft with the occasional bigger set wave this morning. Surfing conditions were also clean with off shore wind.
