BALI
22nd May 2014
Hi folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok so as I mentioned yesterday we were just waiting for the tide to start running in before heading down South to Bali’s premier surfing destination, Uluwatu. And, as it shows in this photo gallery we nailed it there were some smoking tube rides going down. Wave height was in the 4-5ft range with some bigger 6-6ft+ bombs hitting Temple’s and the Main Peak. The amount of water that was moving around help to contain the number of surfers and there were plenty of broken board and leashes. There were also quite a few surfers that missed the cave entrance trying to get back to dry land.
Today the 22nd and we mixed it up once again with a trip down to the mechanical wave and pretty little beach of Bingin. Arriving around 7.45AM to find 13 surfers in the water and wave height in the 2-4ft range. Surfing conditions were nice and clean and then even better when the SE Tradey licked around mid morning. Once again there were some hollow waves for everyone and as the tide hit the bottom of the 1.0mtr Low there were only 8 surfers in the line up.
I’ve got another stack of photos from today at Bingin to get edited up so I’ll get them up in tomorrows report ok. Cause the boys from EGO SURF PHOTOGRAPHY down at Bingin have brought us in a sick photo gallery from yesterdays action. So we’ll throw those up in our “Guest Photographer” report page first.
Impossible’s also had some nice lines peeling off with 3-4ft+ waves down through the end section, plenty of surfers scattered through the line up as well. Progress strikes again down on the bukit with another big developement being put together down at Bingin.
Weather wise there was some more early morning rain down on the Souther end of the island this morning but that quickly cleared up and left us with another hot and sunny day.
Today’s G-Land surf report from our friends at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp was calling in wave height at 3-5ft with clean off shore wind.
