BALI
5th – 6th May 2014
Hello everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (keeping you in the loop with Bali since 1999) for the latest news and hard to beat views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
We shot today’s 52 strong photo gallery here on the West Coast at Canggu on the 5th. As the photos show wave height was a nice fun sized chest to slight over head on the bigger set waves on the river mouth. There were also some nice waves on the sand bar and at Echo beach. No shortage of surfers at this ever popular surfing location.
Yesterday the 6th and with pretty much the exact same conditions in the morning we headed back up to Canggu. Ariving as the tide was starting to roll back in and the wind still off shore outta the NE. But unfortunately wave height had dropped down into the 1-2ft range with the occasional head high set wave. So we threw off, not too mention that there was over 40 surfers on the right hander, 20 on the sand bar and another dozen at Echo beach. Higher numbers than usual due to the lack of locations offering up waves.
So we opted for some beach break fun up along the Kuta to Legian strip of sand. Wave height there was a bit smaller but still some fun to be had.
Yesterdays’s Keramas surf report was calling 2-2ft+ high waves at 6.30AM.
Weather wise yesterday it was just another exceptionally hot and sunny day here on the holiday island with a midday high of 33 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction was out of the NE through until around 10.30AM then switching to the SE.
This morning the 7th and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was only showing a 1 foot wave out on Middle Reef while the tide was still running out. Surfing conditions were clean with the wind out of the ENE.
Not a lot options out there for the surfers today but hopefully we will see a slight improvement in wave height tomorrow.
Weather wise today and at 9.30AM the mercury is already sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is on 89%. Wind direction is ENE – SE at 8knot.
