BALI
12th May 2014
Hi folks and thanks for callin gby the balwiaves.com (keeping you in touch with Bali since 1999) for today’s news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the first choice tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Well this mornings 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still only showing wave height in the 3-4ft range between Kuta reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean enough with the wind only light out of the NNE. There were already quite a few surfers in the water and a lot more expected to turn up.
So as it shows in today’s photo gallery we snuck down to Balangan here on the West Coast. Arriving at 7.45AM to find wave heaight had already started to pick up into the 4-6ft range. The wind was also a little bit cross / off shore at first through until the Tradey licked in around 9.30AM and straightened things out for the better. Only 5 surfers spread from the point down to the middle section, later peaking at 20 riders. As the tide started to run off the top there were some really long rides going down with some make-able barrels.
Ok so our new swell is here and a lot of Indonesia will be lighting up with perfect waves. I’d imagine Padang Padang would have be even delivering the goods earlier this afternoon on the Low tide. So tune in again tomorrow afternoon and check out what we’ve been surfing.
Weather wise it was mainly overcast and rainy from early morning till nearly lunch time before the sun broke through. Right now at 5.30PM the temperature is still a warm 28 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity at 70%. Wind direction is coming out of the South East at 10-14knot
Tomorrow also has a Full Moon rising so get ready for some bigger tide ranges over the next few days.
Today’s G-Land surf report thanks to Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp was calling in wave height in the 5-8ft+ range with a clean midday off shore wind.
