BALI
2nd – 3rd May 2014
Hi everyone and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves.com (the original Bali surf report website since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on your favorite little tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok so finally we’ve got the bugs out of the system and we’re loading photos as usual here. What I’ve got for ya’s so far is around 30 odd photos we shot here on the West Coast yesterday the 2nd. Then after those we switch back over to the East Coast on the 1st of May with 20 or so images.
The swell was still cranking through on the East side on the 1st and surfing conditions were clean as through until late morning. Yesterday and wave height here on the West side was still a clean and consistent 2-4ft where we were at Canggu. It was also good to bump into Matty Hoy up there.
Ok so that just about brings us up to date. This morning the 3rd and our morning surf check on the Outer reefs was showing wave height at 1-2ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was just coming off the bottom of the low so Middle’s was the only option. Surfing conditions were clean enough at the time but with the wind already up out of the NE at 3-5knot
So with the tide on the run in and the wind predicted to swing to the SE at some stage we headed down to the Southern end of Bali to Balangan, just for something different. Arriving at 8.30AM to find wave height in the 2-3ft range but with the wind still cross shore out of the NE. We hung out for two surfs but by 12.00 noon the wind had only got stronger and more North in it so we pulled the pin and bailed out. It was about half way home that the wind did another switch right around to the SE.
Weather wise it’s been another very hot one over here today and right now at 5.00PM the temperature has only just dropped below the 30 degree mark, Humidity is on 72%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 8-10knot.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the Bukit, — 1US$=11,475 — 1AU$=Rp10,600 —
Tomorrow the 4th is already looking good with another predicted bump in wave height and more SE wind (fingers crossed). So if ya get a chance tomorrow afternoon drop back by the baliwaves for our “Sunday Session”
