BALI
25th June 2014
Hello surfers and a big thanks for taking the time out from your important office work etc etc to drop by the baliwaves (keeping you in touch with Bali since 1999) for the latest news and hard to beat views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the friendly little tropical holiday island of Bali.
Alright so yesterday morning we were up and on the road by 6.30AM heading South to Balangan. The ESE off shore Tradewind was already kicking in and wave height in the 2-4ft+ range, things were in our favor. And it was to see some clean lines peeling off on the point and down through the middle section. Surf wise it was pretty good with around 20 surfers spread through the line up, then dropping down to half that as the tide started to get lower.
We also took another look at the Outer Reefs here in Tuban later in the afternoon and if the wind wasn’t so howling off shore there might have been a few nice waves to had between Kuta Reef and Airport Left in the chest to head high plus range.
Today the 26th and our morning surf recon on the Outer’s was still showing wave height in the 2-3ft range with the odd freak set hitting Middle Reef. Unfortunately that off shore wind is already hitting gusts of up to 18knot making it a bit too bumpy off shore. We are going to wait until the tide starts to drop out and then head back down to the Southern end of the island and hopefully be there to see our new swell start to kick in (fingers crossed), so stay tuned to the baliwaves.
Weather wise outside it’s been a mainly sunny morning with a few clouds passing by. Temperature wise right now at 10.30AM is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity at 82%.
Hopefully our new swell will kick in later this arvo and we may even see the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup Trials run if it gets juicy enough. If it does that’s where you’ll be finding us and good luck to all the local boys surfing it.
