Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves.com (working through the weekends since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, Bali.
Like I mentioned we were down on the bukit yesterday morning and I have to admit, and as the photos show, it was cranking. Wave height was coming through in a solid 3-4ft with some double head high freak sets. Low numbers in the water and the wind blowing straight off shore out of the ESE.
Today the 5th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outers was showing a spike in wave height with 3-5 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still running out at the time so Middle Reef was looking the best. Surfing conditions at the time were still clean and tidy with the Tradewind just starting to gear up.
Weather wise it’s been a mainly overcast type of day here in Tuban and there was even some light rain again earlier this morning. Right now at 2.45PM the outside temperature is on 28 degree’s Celsius and the Humidity at 73%. Wind direction is coming hard out of the SE with gusts up to 20knot.
Swell wise it looks to me like wave height will back off some through tomorrow and then be back up come Monday morning. Further out it looks like we have non stop waves hitting Bali right through till a (at this stage) very solid system is going to deliver some real action. Who know’s, if it holds we might see the running of the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup which is on stand by starting from today.
That’s where Ketut and I will be heading this afternoon down to Padang Padang beach for the opening ceremony for the RipCurl Cup contest. So if your in town get down there.
