BALI
24th – 25th July 2014
Howdy folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the friendly little holiday island of Bali.
Ok firstly like I mentioned last report on the 24th Ketut and I headed up into the
mountains to try and find my old Balinese traditional healer who I hadn’t seen for maybe 17yrs. Just everywhere in Bali the lanscapes had changed and at first it was looking like not happening. Then a familiar land mark put on the money before driving through some tiny little villages and finally finding my man. I’d been suffering from a nasty AC joint in my right shoulder for the last 5 months (every paddle stroke had fire running down my arm) but 10 minutes later with “the man” all good, like magic.
Yesterday out on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban wave height went from 2-3ft in the morning down to 1-2ft by late afternoon. There were still some fun little waves out on Middle Reef and maybe even the odd head high freak set. While Kuta Reef and Airports were more for the kiddies. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy all day with the SE Trade wind kicking in early in the morning.
Weather wise it’s been pretty ordinary (for Bali) the last couple of days with a little bit of rain falling late night and early morning and a mainly overcast sky. Right now (26th July) at 7.45AM the temperature is on 23 degree’s Celsius (wintery) with the Humidity on 86%. Wind direction is light out of the East at 2-5knot.
The boys and I are just getting ready to head back down to the Southern end of the island to see if we can find some waves. So stick around and we’ll some more new material for ya’s to check out later this afternoon.
