Hello surfers and thanks big time for calling by the baliwaves (Bali’s first and foremost surf report website since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s favorite tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so as it shows in today’s 145 strong photo gallery I had Ketut take a run down to Bingin beach yesterday afternoon to shoot a few pics on the ever first Bingin Boy’s surfing contest. And good karma was shining over the boys yesterday with absolutely perfect 3-4ft waves at the most mechanical location. At the end of the day it was Indonesia’s best tube rider who took home the trophy, Made Adi Putra or Bol as everyone knows the man as. A big turn out was on hand and I’m sure this is not going to be the last contest the Boy’s from Bingin host.
Today the 29th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have dropped down a notch or two. But still plenty of waves breaking in the head to almost double head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. As the tide was pushing in Kuta Reef was looking the goods but with around 40 surfers on it.
I’ve also had a surf report in from lakey Peak over on the island of Sumbawa this morning calling in wave height hitting The Peak at a solid 4-6ft. There were also some screamers peeling off on Nunga’s according to Craig O. He was also surprised (and stoked) to find numbers way down on average over there.
Weather wise it’s been another mostly cloudy day here with some rain falling mid morning here in Tuban. The SE Tradewind has been providing clean but strong off shore wind all day here on the West side.
Ok folks just a quick one today but I’ll be back with more goods for ya’;s again tomorrow plus another surf report and photos from the Mentawai islands thanks to our friends at the Kandui Surf Resort.
