BALI
2nd August 2014
Hi folks and welcome to the weekend here on your baliwaves (bringing you a little bit of Bali since 1999) for the latest news and best views from here on the only place for your next hard earned tropical surfing holiday, Bali.
Ok so today’s 54 strong photo gallery was shot down at Uluwatu first thing this morning by our man Ketut. We thought seeing as though we’d been shooting perfect waves on the Main Peak and Temple sections of Uluwatu the last couple of day’s we had better show you what goes down when the tide is out and the Racetrack section comes to life. Ketut was down there by 8.00AM and reckons there was around 20 surfers riding the Track and another 20 or so scattered between Temps and the Peak. As it shows surfing conditions were clean and tidy with a light off shore Easterly wind.
While our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height breaking between Kuta Reef and Airports in the 2-3ft with the odd bigger freaky hitting Middle Reef. The tide was still on the bottom so Middle’s was the only option and there were already surfers in the water at the time.
Weather wise today we’ve had a lot more sun shine than the last few days which is always welcome here on the holiday island. Currently here in Tuban at 4.30PM the temperature is on 29 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 68%. Wind direction is now out of the SE at 7-11knots+.
Left ya brains at home department, coming home from Uluwatu the other day I did a rough head count… on how many western tourists were riding around on a pretty dangerous road without helmets on. The funny thing was that the majority had the helmets tied to the handle bars instead of where they belong. I think the local Police should spend some time down on the southern end of the island, make some money and save some lives at the same time. I know it looks pretty cool and feels good with the wind in your hair but, one mistake and looking cool you are not.
Ok more swell predicted for tomorrow and maybe, just maybe we might see some action at Padang Padang and the running of the 2014 RipCurl Padang Padang Cup. So stay tuned right here on the original Bali surf report website.
