BALI
9th -10th August 2014
Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (working through the weekends since 1999 for our Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s most surfer friendly tropical holiday island called Bali.
Today’s 54 strong photo gallery was smashed up at Canggu yesterday morning here on Bali’s West Coast. We were up there early while the wind was still light and variable and as you can see there were some nice fun sized waves breaking on the right hander and the sand bar. Crowd wise Canggu is always busy and yesterday was no different. What was alarming is the way the river mouth outlet has now moved ever since someone decided to put in a retaining wall slash “walk way to no where” The river used to flow out alongside the right hander and that’s what would have shaped this waves a million years or ago. Yesterday it was flowing out straight into the sand bar. I just hope another wave doesn’t get ruined from developers.
This morning the 10th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a slight boost in size, with 2-4 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left & Right. The tide was still running in at the time and surfing conditions were clean and tidy. After looking at the swell prediction charts I was hoping to see wave height continue to climb this afternoon, but that didn’t happen. Our 5.30PM surf check was in fact showing wave height to have backed off to 1-3ft between KR and AL. Hopefully tomorrow mornings surf check will be showing the goods.
Weather wise today it’s been a mostly fine and sunny day with some cloudy patches. Currently right now at 6.00PM the temperature is still a warm 26 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity at 69%.
