Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (keeping it real since 1999) for our Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the place where everybody seems to want to be, Bali.
Ok friends this 80 strong kick ass photo gallery was shot my me down on the Southern end of the island at Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu yesterday . And as it clearly shows it was cranking on all 3 main sections from Temple’s, and the Main Peak and down through the Racetrack section.
I would have liked to get these photos on line for ya’s yesterday but I was hard pressed for time seeing as though we were invited up to the Channel Island Surfboard show room for their first birthday party in Bali. And what a great night with some really nice folks. I’ll try and load ya’s up a few snap shots from last night in tomorrows photo gallery ok.
This morning the 31st and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have dropped off another notch from yesterday (re Twitter) leaving 2-3ft waves between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind light out of the E-SE.
My crew ended up opting for another visit back down to the bukit with our first stop at Balangan for a surf check. Wave height there was kinds ok coming through in the 2-3ft+ range but with the tide pushing in it was just a bit too long between the decent sized set waves. Surfing conditions were perfect with a light off shore wind.
From there we continued South down to Uluwatu where we eventually settled on and there were a few nice waves in the 3-4ft range with the very I mean very occasional 5ft freak set hitting the Main Peak. Around 65 surfers in the water on the Peak with clean off shore wind.
Weather wise it’s been a mainly hot and sunny one here on the West Coast and I’m hoping for a repeat again tomorrow with maybe just a few slightly bigger set waves through in around the top of the tide.
