13th – 14th August 2014
And a very good day to everyone and thank you kindly for dropping into the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since 1999) for the latest news and always the best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the friendly little tropical holiday island called Bali.
Yesterday’s surf check on the Outer Reefs (re Twitter) was only showing wave height breaking in the 1-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport left, with maybe a slightly bigger freak set on Middle Reef. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the off shore SE Trade wind already gearing up at 6.45AM.
So as it shows in today’s 85 strong photo gallery we were down at Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving at 9.00AM to find some solid 2-4 footers with the off double over head freak set hitting the Main Peak. Surfing conditions were faultless with the tide running in and the wind straight off shore out of the East before swinging more to the SE around midday. Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad either but there were still some super dumb and thoughtless drop ins, which is pretty much the norm here at most locations in Bali.
We hung out until 2.00PM down at Ulu hoping to see some low tide Racetrack action going down. But as the tide dropped out so did the swell so we packed up and headed back to home base. Driving past Padang Padang and Impossibles there wasn’t much happening except for the surf school hordes sitting on the top end of Impossibles.
G-Land Daily Surf report 13 August thanks to Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp was calling in, surf 3/5ft wind Offshore.
Don’t forget baliwaves is still offering anyone of you a 10% discount on a surfing adventure into Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp and the best waves of your life. Just contact us right here.
Weather wise it was a another perfect type of Bali day here on the island with nothing more than blue sky and sunshine. Hey, I just remembered did anyone else see the huge meteor that screamed across the sky from East to West around 9.00PM on Monday night ?
This morning the 14th and our mandatory 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing clean little 1 -3 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Pretty similar to yesterday, but maybe just a touch smaller out there. Clean and tidy surfing conditions with the Tradey already starting to puff. The next tide will be a 2.4mtr High at 12.00 midday.
