Hello friends of Bali and a big welcome back to your baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since 1999) for another week full of surf reports and un beatable images from all over Bali and Indonesia.

Ok to kick off today’s 79 strong photo gallery we had our man Ketut down on location at Uluwatu yesterday afternoon for the sunset session on the tubular Racetrack section. And as it shows Uluwatu was bunging on another free keg show and all welcome. The second part of the gallery was delivered to us from our good mates Mul and Wayan (EGO SURF PHOTOGRAPHY). Located down at the ever mechanical wave of Bingin and includes a few sick barrels.

Today the 4th and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs was as expected showing wave height to be still in the 2-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still running down at the time so Middle Reef had the best waves in the chest to head high range and the odd slightly bigger freak set as per usual at Middle’s. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the SE Trade wind already starting to gear it up.

We’ve also been keeping a close eye on the waves today and at 3.30PM wave height has increased a little up into the 2-4 class but no where near the mark for the Cup to run today. Hopefully it should keep pushing in some more over night and we’ll see some more serious stuff first thing tomorrow morning.

Weather wise out there today it’s been a pretty good beach day here on the holiday island with more blue sky than grey. Right now at 4.00PM the temperature is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is on 71%. Wind direction is coming straight out of the East at 12 – 16knot.

If you guys and girls haven’t already heard about the serious drama that went down on Lombok last week here’s what happened (in a nut shell). A surfer named Gary Owens brother of the surfing legend Bobby Owens was riding his motor bike home one afternoon when he took a wrong turn. Then suddenly he was confronted by some ugly locals brandishing curved machete’s. Un luckily he stacked his bike trying to avoid them and was belted across the head with something and knocked unconscious. The thieves then robbed him and left him for dead on the side of the road. Luckily a passing driver spotted him and helped him to the nearest medical help. Then with the help of his bro and friends coordinating everything Gary was able to get the heck outta there. This sort of stuff goes on quite a bit on this island so please take extra caution when riding motor bikes on Lombok, especially the south end of the island.

Left ya brains at home department, coming home from Uluwatu the other day I did a rough head count… on how many western tourists were riding around on a pretty dangerous road without helmets on. The funny thing was that the majority had the helmets tied to the handle bars instead of where they belong. I think the local Police should spend some time down on the southern end of the island, make some money and save some lives at the same time. I know it looks pretty cool and feels good with the wind in your hair but, one mistake and looking cool you are not.
