BALI
29th August 2014
Hi folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in ’99) for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, Bali.
Ok so we’ve had a huge day today starting off with a fresh surf report and photos from the boys at Joyo’s G-land Surf Camp, featuring G-land of course. Then we loaded up a new report and photos from the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai islands of Sumatra. Then our mates at EGO SURF PHOTOGRAPHY (Guest Photographer) dropped us off a filthy photo gallery from somewhere down on the bukit featuring Bali’s best tube rider Made Adi Putra or better know as “Bol” getting some of the deepest Bali barrels I’ve ever seen in my 19+yrs on the island. You can find all these photos on their respective surf report pages.
Speaking of G-land, baliwaves is still offering anyone of you a 10% – 15% discount on a surfing adventure into Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp and the best waves of your life.
But our day started off with our mandatory 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs just down the road from Home Base here in Tuban. There was still some nice sized waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left in the 3-5ft range with Middle Reef picking up the bigger waves. My crew opted to surf around Airport Right even though the SE Trade wind was already starting to put a little bump on the faces the boys were pretty happy with it.
Ketut on the other hand took our 600mm lens and camera and headed down South for the trifecta run. Uluwatu, Impossibles and Balangan. As it shows in our photo gallery wave height at Ulu was still up there with some solid 6-8ft set waves. Impossibles was a more fun and speedy 3-4ft with Balangan still delivering some double over head set waves for the boys and girls down there. Surfing conditions have been clean and tidy with the wind coming out of the ESE – SE.
Currently outside right now at 5.15PM the temperature is still on 27 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 69%. Wind direction is now SE at 9-14knot.
Ok folks get ready for the weekend here on the baliwaves because it’s looking like there’s still going to be plenty of waves happening all around Bali.
Don’t forget this Saturday night the 30th of August CHANNEL ISLANDS surfboards will be celebrating their 1st year here in Bali with food and drinks at their show room on Sunset rd Seminyak starting at 7PM. Live music and DJ, so turn up and have some fun.
Just a quick message for all the surfers in Bali – I had my board stolen from my accommodation sometime between 11pm Tuesday night and 10am Wednesday morning down the Bukit.
Staying at Belong Bunter between Padang Padang and Uluwatu. It’s down a lane so the least of places you’d expect you’r board to go missing. Reported it to the police etc. but as you can imagine no help.
It’s a JS Konfusion 6’1 shortboard, white with some dodgy posca pen art of the top and bottom.
