BALI
22nd – 23rd August 2014
Howdy folks and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves (the one and only original Bali surf report plus plus website since back in 1999) for the latest news and best views from out and about here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well here we go again my friends and starting off the show with a 60 strong photo gallery that our man Ketut P shot down on the Southern end of the island. Ketut’s first port of call was Uluwatu followed by Padang Padang, Impossibles Bingin and then finishing it off with a quick pit stop at Balangan. That’s also the order of the photos and you should be able to pick the different locations out by now.
Just for the record we have also loaded up another photo gallery from the ever tubular surfing location of Bingin beach. Thanks to our mates at EGO SURF PHOTOGRAPHY and you can find those gems in our “Guest Photographer” page. Or simply hit the quick link in our “Recent Posts” section.
Today the 23rd and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing some small but fun sized waves in the 1-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. The tide was still running in at the time and the wind was a light off shore Easterly breeze. No shortage of surfers out there on all 3 main breaks, as expected as we just pass through the Peak of the tourist season.
Ketut has got it easy again today over on the East Coast hangin out with Devis Ratif from Quiksilver Indonesia and his friends at Keramas. He did phone through calling in wave height in the 2-3ft+ range with a light cross / on shore wind but still some nice waves coming through for the local boys.
Speaking of Keramas, and love or hate all the development in this area, we will be seeing another International surf contest back there again this year with a QS 1 star event happening later in October 2014.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.4mtr Low happening around 3.15PM
Weather wise out there so far today it’s been a main sunny day with some scattered cloud cover. Currently the temperature is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius at 12.00noon, Humidity level is a 78%. We will also have a New Moon rising on the 25th of this month so get ready for those big tidal ranges.
Our next swell in on an immanent collision course with us here in Bali and we should hopefully start to see a change on the ocean by sun set time later today. It’s going to be a big one and Padang Padang should be in it’s prime by tomorrow afternoon on the 4PM Low tide through till sunset. Then all next week there is going to be shortage of waves all over Bali and most of Indo for that matter. So stay tuned right here on the baliwaves ok.
