BALi
25th – 26th August 2014
Hi golks and welcome back to the baliwaves (doing what we do since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok kicking off the show with 66 photos from out and about down on the Southern end of the island. As you can guess the opening shots were taken at Uluwatu where wave height was still a solid 6-8ft+ with a few riders in the water. Then we went via Padang Padang to “Suara Ombak” bungalows for a classic over view of Impossibles and Bingin. Then Ketut finished up at Balangan up on top of the hill. I also managed to sneak in some precious family time and took my crew for tour down to Pandawa beach over on the East side of the island.
This morning the 26th and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a further drop in wave height with 3-4ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. The tide had just gone past the middle mark of the run in so there were waves and surfers on all 3 of the main sections. Middle Reef was picking up the bigger waves with the odd 5ft freaky every now and then. Around at Airport Right there would have also been some nice waves happening while the wind was still light out of the ENE.
Ketut has phoned in from some where over on the East Coast calling in head to double head high waves with a light off shore wind. So I’m looking forward to checking out his photos when he gets back to Home Base.
Mul from EGO SURF PHOTOGRAPHY has also delivered another batch of photos from where they are located at Bingin Beach and I’ll get on to those babies as soon as this goes on line.
Weather wise out there this morning it’s mostly overcast sky around this part of the island and looking down to the South it’s pretty much the same. Temperature wise right now at 9.30AM we have 25 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 78%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 5-9knot.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 2.4mtr High around 10.00AM.
Swell situation is showing another new swell starting to show late on Wednesday afternoon, so Thursday morning there will be waves all over Bali. This swell won’t be as big as whats just hit us but it will still be faily solid, slowly backing off through until Saturday afternoon. Then we might have a couple of smaller days for everyone to lick their wounds and rest up for the next round.
