BALI
8th – 9th August 2014
Hello surfers and welcome back home to your baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since 1999) for the latest news and hard to beat views from right here on the with out a doubt best value for hard earned tropical surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
Just for a change today’s photo gallery has a little more variety and a few different angle’s thrown in while we were down on the bukit changing over the router on the baliwaves Impossibles web cam. Featuring Uluwatu, Impossible’s and Bingin. The Bingin and Impossibles photos were shot out of the OMBAK SUARA bungalows cliff top.
This morning the 9th we started off with our mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban and at 7.30AM there were 2-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind fresh out of the East at 5 – 8knot. The tide was just approaching the top of the tide at the time and there were already quite a few surfers in the water on both Kuta Reef and Airport Left and even 15+ on the low tide waves of Middle Reef. Airport Left was looking the best option and picking up a little more size than Kuta Reef. If the Trade wind holds off this afternoon Middle’s should have a few fun sized waves to play with.
Ketut on the other hand has taken another run back up to Canggu early this morning. He has phoned through calling in wave height up there to also be in the 2-3ft range with the odd bigger freak set hitting the right hander and sand bar. He was also calling surfing conditions to be clean and tidy with an early morning off shore wind. He should be back home soon so we’ll see what he’s got for us photo wise then.
In the mean time you can always check out the “Bethany gets Barreled at Bingin” photo gallery we have loaded up into our “Guest Photographer” report page courtesy of the boys at EGO SURF PHOTOGRAPHY on the scene at Bingin Beach.
You know I think this week we have loaded around 10 magazines worth of photos for you on the baliwaves so make sure you keep an eye on our “RECENT POSTS” column over on the right hand side and bottom of this page to keep up to date. And please help support our sponsors because they help us pay our bills and keep our head above the water.
Weather wise out there this morning it’s started off pretty good with loads of blue sky for us beach lovers. Currently right now at 10.00AM the mercury is sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 75%. Wind direction is coming out of the East at 5 – 9knot.
Swell forecast predictions are looking good with another solid swell heading straight at us here on the island of the Gods. It’s looking like starting to show Sunday afternoon and then keep building through the night for a peak on Monday morning before fading out on Tuesday afternoon. Then we have another smaller spike arriving on the following Thursday. So happy days if your already in Indonesia on a surfing holiday. Hopefully we’ll get to see who is going to hold the 2014 RipCurl Cup this coming Monday, so stay tuned.
Emergency Call, if any one knows a Steven (Harry) Hunter here in bali please pass on the news that it is very important that he calls home ASAP.
