17th – 18th September 2014
Hello surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (the only baliwaves.com since 1999) for the latest news and best views from here on the happy little tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
So as we mentioned in yesterdays surf report Ketut was checking the waves and conditions at Uluwatu and Balangan yesterday the 17th. And here’s the 42 strong photo gallery to back it up.
Today the 18th and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing some fun sized waves in the 2-4ft range breaking between Kuta reef and Airport Left. The tide was at top of the high and the wind was coming light off shore out of the ESE. So Kuta reef and Airport Left were the best options for us locally.
I got Ketut to take another run down to the Southern end of the island hoping to shoot some low tide on Uluwatu’s Racetrack section. But not to be again with wave height too big for it like yesterday. Ketut phoned in (re- Twitter) that wave height was still in the 3-5ft range and with the wind still blowing clean off shore. Only 15 surfers in the water on the lower end of the tide.
From there our man made another stop down at Bingin. Ketut was calling wave height in the 3-4ft range on the mechanical left hander but with the wind already starting to blow cross shore from the South. Around 20 surfers in the water while Ketut was on the scene. I’ll check out the photos and get some new one’s up for ya’s later this evening or first thing in the morning.

Weather wise out there today we’ve got a very hot one on the beach and right now at 1.00PM the temperature is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity at 70%. Wind direction is feeling like it’s coming out of the SE but in reality it’s now out of the S-SSE. Hopefully it’ll swing moe to the E-SE through out the afternoon.
The next tide today will be a 1.7mtr High at 7.30PM
