31st August to 2nd September
Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (the original Bali surf report + website since 1999) for the latest news and hard to beat views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
First up just to let you know due to unstoppable events we couldn’t get these photos to you any earlier. The first was on the 31st after a full day down at Uluwatu then coming and falling ill to the dreaded hot and cold fever. Then yesterday the 1st after a day over on the East Coast to come home to no internet connection. But all good and everything is almost back to normal again (except my head).
So what we have for ya’s in today’s 104 strong photo gallery is the first section from over on the East Coast yesterday the 1st of September and the remainder of the photos from down at Uluwatu on the 31st of August. I have also loaded photos from G-land and the Mentawai’s into their report pages plus a solid photo gallery from Bingin into our Guest Photographers page so while your here check em all out.
Today the 2nd and out 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was only showing 1-2ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time and the tide still running out.
So just for some thing different we took a run up to Canggu to see if we could find any waves. Arriving at 8.30Am to find 1-2ft waves with maybe just one or two almost head high waves breaking on all 3 of the main breaks in this area. Surfing conditions were not the best with the tide just starting to roll in and the wind light out of the South, but still clean and surfable.
Crowd wise Echo beach had half a dozen surfers and a similar amount riding the right hander that used to be in front of the river mouth. While on the left hand sand bar section there were 30+ surfers. Looking back to the South and Batu Bolong there a lot more surfers in the water.
Weather wise it was a cool and overcast morning with sunny patches after 8.30AM. The SE Trade wind never kicked in until exactly 10.10AM and started to rev up into the 12-15knot class straight away. Temperature wise right now at 2.00PM it’s sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 60%. Wind direction is still out of the SE at 10 – 15knot.
