BALI
15th – 16th September 2014
Hello everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves (just doing what we do, since 1999) for the latest news and hard to beat views on surfing and weather conditions from here the happy little tropical surfing holiday destination that’s got something for everyone, Bali.
Ok so as I mentioned in yesterdays surf report we were over on the East Coast at the very popular location of Keramas and here’s 50+ photos to show you what the waves were like. Not too bad really, seeing as though the wind was on shore.
Today the 16th and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Middle Reef was picking up the 4 footers while KR and Airports were more like 2-3 foot. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time with the wind only just light out of the North.
So we thought we’d be smart and wait for the tide to bottom out and then head up to Canggu and see what we could find. But it was a total back fire with the new changed traffic conditions (what a joke) in the north Seminyak area it was total traffic grid lock and took us almost 2 hours of stop go, bumper to bumper kaos. So by the time we got to Canggu just before 11.00Am the wind was already starting to freshen from the South and on shore. But there were still some ok waves on the sand bar section in the chest to well over head high range. I’ll get those photos on line for ya’s tomorrow morning, along with another sik photo gallery from our friends at EGO SURF PHOTOGRAPHY featuring more mechanical Bingin.
I was truelly hoping for the traffic night mare to have been fixed by the time we headed back for home at 1.00PM… Not a chance and another 2 hr’s just to get back to Tuban which normally takes only 30-40mins. And the scary thing is that today is only Tuesday, wait till the weekend and see how it is..
weather wise today here on the holiday island it’s been a mainly hot and sunny day with light to fresh on shore wind out of the S-SSE.
