BALI
17th – 18th October 2014
Hello everyone and thanks for hanging around waiting for the baliwaves.com (keeping you in the loop with Bali since 1999) to get back on the road after some “server spring cleaning” today. But here we go again now with the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from the happy little tropical holiday island that we all love, Bali.
Ok so today’s 79 strong photo gallery was captured up the coast from here a little ways yesterday morning. Plenty of both left and rights with wave height pushing the chest to over head class while the tide was high. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with even a little bit of early morning off shore wind thrown in for the early risers.
This morning the 18th and our 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in the laid back little surfing and fishing suburb of Tuban, was showing wave height to have dropped off a smidgen. Down into the 2-3ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Right. The tide was still in at the time and wind direction was a light North East’r.
So with surfing and weather conditions pretty much the same as yesterday’s I had Ketut take another run back up the coast and smash a few more photos for us. They are being edited right now. Wave height was still in the 2-3ft range with the off slightly over head freak set wave. There was a competition of some sorts happening on the right hander but the left on the sandbar was open for fun (exempting zombies).
Weather wise as per my morning Twitter up dates, we had some early morning high and thin cloud that burnt off by mid to late morning. So by midday it was business as usual along the beach and sun tans all round. Wind wise we had an early NE’s which eventually gave way for some clean SE wind that got up to 10-13 knot in strength.
Ok if you’ve been checking out our “Recent Posts” section on the right hand side of the page you would have noticed that we’ve been adding more Bingin and G-land photo galleries with the odd Mentawai islands surf up date in there. Today I’ve also loaded up an old video clip that I shot over at Keramas back in 2007 when there was no resort and basically no crowd there. Plus our water photographer Josh is back in town and shooting his regular quality material he’s already sent us through a series of photos he shot of some of the local boys and girls yesterday afternoon. So stay in touch and keep an eye on “Recent Posts” ok.
