BALI
13th – 14th October 2014
Hello surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves.com (gettin her done, since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on everyone’s first choice tropical surfing holiday destination called Bali.
Yesterday the 13th our 6.30AM surf check on the Outer reefs was showing wave height in the 2-3ft range with clean and glassy surfing conditions. Wind direction was only just coming out of the NW at 1-3knot. We also knew that a new swell should start to show sometime around mid morning on the run in tide, we were just hoping that the wind would lay off and not swing to the W-SW as it has been the last few days.
So as it shows in today’s photo gallery we headed down South to Balangan to see what was happening. At least we knew Balangan wouldn’t be crowded out. Wave height at Balangan by 9.00AM was already breaking in the 3-4ft range and surfing conditions were still fairly clean although the wind was doing what we hoped it wouldn’t. By 10.00AM the set waves were pushing double head high and now there was only around a doze surfers left in the water. By 11.00AM and the wind was getting fresh out of the W-SW so we packed it in and headed for home.
This morning the 14th and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height back in the 2-4ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was pretty well dead low and plenty of reef out of the water while the wind was out of the North at 1-2knot. I’d say as the tide pushes in later this morning we’ll see a little more size in the set waves.
Anyway I’m just hoping that where my crew are heading it’s going to be cranking, stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report to see how we get on.
Weather wise out there this morning there is some high and light cloud over us at the moment that should burn off to reveal just another hot and sunny day here in Bali. Temperature wise now at 7.45Am we have 27 degree’s with the humidity at 88%.
