BALI
26th October 2014
Hi crew and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves ( working through the weekends since 1999) for our Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions from here on yours and mine favorite tropical surfing destination called Bali.
Ok so after this mornings 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban to find wave height in the 2-3ft range with the odd slightly bigger freak set hitting Middle Reef. The tide was still pretty low at that time so Kuta and Airports were out of the surfing equation. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind coming lightly out of the ENE.
So as it shows in today’s photo gallery the crew and I settled for a day down at Balangan beach. Wave height seemed to have backed off a little with the top of the tide but there were still plenty of consistent little waist to chest high waves. And the good thing about it was that everyone looked like they were having fun, both in and out of the surf, gotta love that right.
Ketut spent the afternoon down at Bingin with our web cam techo trying to sort out the low quality images we have been getting and was calling in some nice little waves in the waist to head high region hitting Bingin on the bottom of the low tide this arvo. We should have the web cam working properly shortly as well.
The last handful of photos in this gallery was shot out in the streets of Kuta and finishing off the day watching the sun set.
Weather wise today it was just another typical hot and sunny day here on the holiday island. Wind wise it was all over the place but finally settling back into the SE by early afternoon. I’d say the seasonal change isn’t that far off.
Ok so I know some of you Northern Hemisphere surfers and going to be heading “down under” to Australia for some shrimp and Fosters…. not too mention some cyclone super bank tube rides. So if your heading to the Gold Coast and want some where close by the waves and very comfortable then check out this link.
