BALI

Selamat Hari Raya Galungan to all my Balinese friends
Hi folks and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the place we’d all rather be, BALI.
Ok well we got the ball rolling today with a 6.30AM surf recon on the Outer reefs here in Tuban. At the time there were 2-3ft plus sized waves breaking between Kuta reef and Airport Left / Right. The wind was fresh out of the North and the tide high.
But as it shows in today’s 50 strong photo gallery we took a trip a little ways up the coast here on the West side of the island. Arriving around 7.30AM to find some super clean 2-4ft lefts and rights. The tide was running out but all 3 of the main breaks in this area were all producing some really nice waves. Looking further to the South from where we were you could see solid “learn to surf” crowds at No Mans and down at Batu Bolong. But crowd wise where we were there would have only been maybe 30 surfers spread through the whole line up and very unusual.
I did manage to sneak in another quick look at the Outers just now and there was still the 2-4ft mushy waves showing between Kuta Reef and Airports, with the wind fresh out of the N-NW.
Weather wise we have had a mostly hot and sunny day here on the West Coast but right now at 5.30PM the sky has turned black and it’s pissing down rain.

Hey now with the summer happening here in the Southern Hemisphere I’m sure there are going to be plenty of you Northerners heading “down under” to Australia’s famous Gold Coast area to sample some “Super Bank” waves after your time on this island. Or maybe to do some unique surf trips with the best surf camp in Australia. Well you people had better check out these two websites.
