BALI
29th – 30th December 2014
Hi folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (keeping you in the loop with Bali all year round since back in 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the Worlds No.1 tropical surfing holiday island destination called Bali.
Ok well yesterday was a bit of a non event / stay at home type day for us. At the very least definitely not a take your camera to the beach day with on and off rain going down through most of the day.
This morning the 30th and our 6.46AM surf check (re Twitter) on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing 1-2ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. But the wind was already starting to blow outta the W-NW. No surfers in the water at the time.
I also had a text message surf report come through from Keramas calling in wave height at 1-2ft+ with 25+ surfers all over it. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at 8.30AM.
My same contact also texted through from Geger beach / Nusa Dua calling in solid 2-3ft+ waves with clean conditions around midday.
But as it shows in today’s photo gallery we were down supporting the Uluwatu Boardriders with their club championship deciding contest. The on shore wind and smallish 2-3ft waves didn’t stop the Ulu locals from running their event with everyone smiling all through it. The finals will be decided tomorrow with “man on man” heats so make sure you get down there and support our friends from Uluwatu. The action should be getting ready to rock and roll around 8.00AM.
Weather wise today we have had a mainly hot and sunny day with some cloud rolling through. Temperature wise here in Tuban the midday high was easily in the low 30’s on the Celsius scale. Tomorrow’s forecast is looking pretty much the same, hopefully without any rain.
Ok I’m sure everyone is getting ready for a big NEW YEARS EVE where ever you might be and we certainly hope everyone has a ball. Ok safe travels and we’ll be looking forward to seeing you again in 2015, HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
Traffic Dept, Ok everyone just a few more days of bad traffic to go here in Bali and all our domestic friends from the big island should be heading back home and we get our roads back to normal. Don’t plan on driving anywhere tomorrow night and if you are going anywhere by taxi make sure you get going early so you don’t spend New Year’s Eve in the traffic.
