BALI
18th – 19th January 2015
Hello everyone and thanks for calling into the baliwaves.com (keeping you in the loop with Bali all year round since 1999) for the latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the Worlds number one tropical surfing holiday destination called Bali.
Ok first off we have already up loaded you lot a new surf up date and photos from our friends at the Kandui Surf Resort up North in the Mentawai islands. Plus we’ve also loaded up the Nov / Dec Body boarding photo gallery so while your here check em out if you please.
Today’s 42 strong photo gallery was shot yesterday the 18th here on Bali’s West Coast and I do have to admit there was a few fun little waves breaking both left and right. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy for the early morning session with the wind kicking in out of the W-SW around 9.45AM. Crowd wise the numbers were pretty good and the waves coming through consistently.
Weather wise it was hot and sunny for most of the day with some cloud cover filling in through the afternoon.
Today the 19th and with the waves all but gone here on the West Coast we headed East to try and find a few over there. Our first port of call was at Kapung Pt to find wave height in the 2-2ft+ range and a few ok shaped rights peeling off but with 12 surfers already in the water. From there we drove back to Carparks to find 2-3 footers breaking but with 15 in the water and another group of 8 body boarders also just arriving.
So we settled for the Main break of Keramas where wave height was in also in the 2-2ft+ range, but a little more consistent. There were 20 surfers in the water even though by that time (10.00AM) the wind was already blowing cross / on shore. Nothing to rave about that’s for sure but still good enough to get wet. These days you can’t get an “un crowded” wave at Keramas with the resort and guest house right in front of the wave.
Weather wise another hot and sunny morning with the midday temperature well into the 30’s on the Celsius scale. You know it’s hot when the black sand beach on Keramas is too hot to walk on. Now at 6.00PM we have just had some light rain here in Tuban with no visible wind present (glass off).
Ok tomorrows another day and hopefully there’s a little more swell happening for us here in Bali. I know we’ll be tying the boards on the roof for the dawn patrol. So make sure you stay tuned to the original Bali surf report for up dates through out the day. Feel free to contact us anytime.
