BALI – AUSTRALIA FEBRUARY 2015
Hello again surfers and and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for the latest news and hard to beat views from here on everyone’s first choice tropical surfing holiday destination on BALI.
Well not a lot has been happening for me except mainly being my Mum’s taxi driver while she is recovering. I do have to say the weather here in Newcastle has been pretty good, once the sun warms up around mid morning.
Ketut has been holding the fort in Bali and keeping himself busy as it shows with another whopping 146 strong photo gallery. Ketut shot these images on the 7th-8th on Bali’s West Coast between Canggu and Uluwatu. As it shows surfing conditions were still clean and glassy with that light and variable wind. I’ve noticed there’s still another 100 or so photos easy still waiting to be processed that Ketut has sent through to me. Hopefully I’ll get us up to date by tomorrow.
I’ve also loaded you up another surf report with photos that our friends at the Kandui Surf Resort / Mentawai Islands have sent through to us from their first trip of the season.
This morning’s (the 12th) 6.45AM surf check thanks to Ketut was showing wave height in the waist to chest hight range from Kuta reef to Airport Left. Surfing conditions were very ordinary with the wind already on shore out of the West.
The baliwaves free to view webcam over looking Impossibles was just confirming that we have small waves and on shore wind along Bali’s West Coast today.
Ok so this is my last weekend off island, and it’s been good so far for battery recharge but I’m certainly looking forward to being back in Bali with my Family very soon, have a good one.
Bali Fishing Scene, Seeing as though I haven’t up dated the baliwaves Sport Fishing Page up for awhile I thought I’d try something different and let ya’s know what’s happening out there. The last week my fishing crew have been killing it on the Spanish Mackerel and close to home at that. The average fish caught have been in the 3-7kg mark but there ‘s also been plenty of big fat and strong adult fish that have been well over the 10-12kg mark. These fish can take some super long runs and peel off a lot of line before they usually about face and run back at you trying to shake those hooks. I’ve seen plenty of hard winding to keep that line tight before your fish will decide to take another run and peel off some more line. The lure that has been getting the most strikes is a blue / black Rapala CD9. The small Bonito Tuna in the 1-3kg range have also been hitting the lures as well. Earlier in the week there had a solid thick run of “Long Tom” which are also not bad eating and can certainly put a good bend in your rod, using fish baits. We fish for the feel ! contact us if your keen to get amongst em.
