Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for the start of another surfing week here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing adventure, Bali.

Today’s photo gallery features Serangan (19th April) on Bali’s East Coast and Balangan (18th April) on the West side.

Those of you that were keeping up with on through our Twitter feeds would have known that our first surf check yesterday morning was at Secrets where there was some nice waves breaking but little did we know that there was already a surfing contest running. So from there we back tracked back down to Serangan.

We were prepared to find a big crowd in the water at Serangan but stoked when we pulled up to only see around 30 surfers spread through the line up. Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy and there was some solid set waves going past the double head high class. We hung out for 2 un crowded sessions before heading back home.

I also did a late afternoon surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban to find wave height was breaking in the 2-4ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was pretty low so Middle Reef was the only option and there were half a dozen surfers on it. By late afternoon the wind had also swung back to the SE and off shore between Uluwatu and Kuta.

Weather wise it was another overcast morning before the sun busted through around late morning.

Today the 20th it’s just getting light enough now for a surf check on the Outer Reefs and time to make the call where we’ll be surfing today. So stick around and stay tuned into the original Bali surf report.
