21st April 2015
Hi folks and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (doing our best to keep you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the happy little tropical holiday island that’s got something for everyone, Bali.
Our day started off with a 6.30AM surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban, that was showing 2-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still just coming off the bottom of the Low and the wind light out of the North. I didn’t see any surfers in the water at the time.
Our plan was to head up the West Coast to Canggu and capitalize on the conditions that are best suited to that area. So we pulled up around 7.45AM to find some super clean and glassy waves in the 2-4ft+ sector breaking on the river mouth right and some solid 3-5 footers hitting the Echo left. The sand bar section still had a lot of current on it but still producing some grindy left handers. Crowd wise it was pretty good but it did get quite busy by 10.00AM.
Check out today’s 111 strong photo gallery and you’ll see for yourself.
It was also good to catch up with a few of the local surfers that were out there carving it up. And a special hello to Piping who was also on the scene this morning, make sure you keep your eye’s open for the latest issue of Magic Wave magazine that should be on the streets next month.
Weather wise it was another typical day in Bali with mostly just blue sky and sunshine here on the holiday island. Right now at 5.00PM the mercury is still sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 74%. Wind direction is now West at 3-7knot.
