BALI
23rd – 24th May 2015
Hi surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves (working through the weekends since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the best value tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Alright then, yesterday mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was only showing wave height breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left in the waist to chest high region. Surfing conditions were clean with the wind blowing light onshore out of the NW. Middle Reef was the only option on the morning low tide.
But as it shows in today’s 100 strong photo gallery we made tracks down to Indonesia’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving just as the tide was starting to run back in and 2-3ft waves with a few solid 4 foot set waves. The Main Peak had the best waves on offer and it was good sharing a few waves with the local boys. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind staying light and variable through the morning. It’s always a good day down at Uluwatu with great waves and super friendly locals.
Weather wise yesterday it was plain old hot and sunny.
This morning the 24th and our 6.45am surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban was still only showing wave height in the waist to chest high at best range. With the tide on the bottom of the Low Middle Reef was the only option and there were surfers in the water at the time. Surfing conditions were glassy with the wind light out of the WSW.
Weather wise today and it’s shaping up for another hot one here on the holiday island. Currently at 8.15am the temperature is already on 27 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 78%. Wind direction is coming lightly out of the WSW.
Travel Tip; I’ve seen a lot of airline damaged surf boards this year coming from all points of the globe, and that’s the last thing you want to find when you un pack your boards. So make sure you pack them up nice and secure cause those airlines don’t give a shit about your shooters.
ATTENTION; The Uluwatu Boardriders Challenge will be kicking off again this month on the 29th to 31st. This surfing contest is open to any surfers wanting to surf in the Open or Masters catogory and is going to be fun fun fun while it’s on. Just imagine surfing perfect waves at Uluwatu with only 3 other surfers in the water.. Contact us and we’ll put you in touch with the organisers.
