BALI
12th May 2015
Hello surfers and welcomback to your baliwaves (The one and only original baliwaves since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, Bali.
Yesterday the 11th and my crew opted to head for Balangan, seeing as though it was going to be pretty small everywhere. But at least at Balangan with the right equipment you can get a wave without the added hassle or congestion. That’s about how it was yesterday down there. Wave height was only in the waist to chest high range but on fun boards it was just that, fun. It was also good to get down there and hand out another surfboard to a Balinese grommet, that makes it our second board give away to local kids in need of a surfboard, 1 on the East Coast and another one yesterday here on the West Coast.
Weather wise after a little bit of overnight rain it was clear as a bell with the midday temperature well in to the 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Today the 12th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was still only showing waist to waist high plus sized waves breaking from Kuta Reef to Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind light off shore.
So Ketut volunteered to take the crew down to Uluwatu seeing as though that’s where the most swell would be showing. Ketut phoned through calling in wave height in the waist to head high region with a few bigger freak sets thrown in every now and again. Not your best conditions for the serious surfer but still plenty of fun to be had for everyone else.
Weather wise right now at 3.30PM we have an outside temperature of 31 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 74%. Wind direction is coming hard out of the SE at 10 – 15knot.
The next tide today in Bali is going to be a 1.8mtr High at 4.30PM
Hopefully tomorrow we will see a small boost to wave height and then a little bit more again on the 14th. So stay tuned if you want to be in the know.
