BALI
13th – 14th May 2015
Hi surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on our first choice tropical surfing holiday island location of Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 13th and Ketut and the boys were up early and hit the road for Medewi. But unfortunately Medewi was a touch too small with only 2-2ft+ waves. Even though there were no surfers in the water and the wind light off shore they opted to head back down the road a ways to Balian. Wave height at Balian was chest to well over head but with 30+ *surfers in the water.
I was ok with it all because I was taking a day off at home for my birthday.
Today the 14th and my first surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban (Twitter = @baliwaves) was only showing wave height breaking in the 1-2ft+ range from Middle Reef to Kuta Reef, there wasn’t much at all happening down on Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean with the wind at the time light out of the NE.
But we opted to head up the coast a little ways where the wind would be straight off shore and the waves a little bit bigger, but also knowing that it was going to be more crowded. Arriving to find chest to head high plus waves, clean off shore wind but a solid crowd as we knew there would be. I have loaded a dozen or so photos from today at the end of our current photo gallery to give you an idea of what we got this morning. The majority of the gallery was shot down at Uluwatu on the 12th of May.
Weather wise it’s just been pure holiday weather the last week and no shortage of it today either. Temperature wise right now we have 29 degree’s (4.30PM), Humidity level is at 71%. Wind direction is coming hard out of the SE at 12-15knot.
