BALI
10th – 11th May 2015
Hi folks and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (delivering a little bit of Bali to you since way back in 1999) for the latest news and our best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
OK so like I mention ed in yesterday mornings surf report we knew there wasn’t going to be a hell of a lot of swell available for us so we were stoked when we pulled into Canggu to see some 2-3ft+ waves breaking on the river mouth. The Tradewind had already got up early and by the time we got in the water it was already blowing cross shore. The wind was blowing into the right handers helping to make it a little bit cleaner than the lefts. The numbers in the water were low so there was plenty of sun sized waves for everyone.
Today the 11th and after my 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs (Twitter feed @baliwaves) was showing wave height in the 1-2ft range we decided to head down to Uluwatu, but a surf check on Balangan first. Wave height at balangan was also only in the 1-2ft range with a head high freak set every now and again. But surfing conditions were clean and smooth and on arrival there was hardly anyone in the water. That soon changed though and by 10.30am there would have been close to 100 mainly learner surfers spread through the line up.
I’ll throw some photos from Balangan today up tomorrow morning.
Weather wise we’ve had another hot and sunny day here on the holiday island of Bali and I didn’t hear any complaints all day.
Call in and see a real Bali surfing legend Mr Ketut Menda here in Bali. You can find Ketut at his surf shop “LEGEND SURF” here in Jalan Raya Tuban most afternoons along with any surfing accessaries you may need.
