BALI
26th – 27th June 2015
Welcome back surfers and thanks for taking the time out to stop by the baliwaves for the latest news and usually the best views on surfing and weather conditions from your favorite tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali Indonesia.
Just to kick off today’s up date here’s 57 photos that I shot down at Uluwatu yesterday, kinda the calm before the storm in terms of swell size. It was nice to Devis Ratif’s son Tenshi out there tearing it to peices (cover).
Well it’s been a big day all round here in Bali that ‘s for certain. Ketut and my crew were up early before the dawn and on there way up the East Coast hoping to score some long and perfect waves at a certain right hand point break. But when Ketut called through at 6.35AM calling in wave height at 1-2ft it was pretty sad after all the effort they had put in. The new swell just wasn’t getting up there. While just about every other location in Bali was being smashed by some very big waves. I’m not sure if I’d be calling today’s waves the biggest in 10 years as earlier forecast-ed, but it was still very big indeed.
I was also talking to our good mate Made Ropik from Uluwatu today and at the time we was at Padang Padang shooting some video of 6ft+ waves with some guest super stars in the line up. Hopefully Made will be send us some frame grabs from his day’s shooting later this evening.
I also heard through the grapevine that Keramas had some smaller waves up there this morning but with the biggest crowd on it in it’s short history.
Me, poor old Slim was stuck at home today waiting for the land lord to make his bi yearly visit so I could (with a smile on my face…) hand him 10 grand cash for the next 2yrs rent in advance. Today of all bloody days he has to fly to Bali. But oh well that’s how the cookie crumble’s sometimes right.
But it has been good checking out all the waves from around Bali and beyond on the good old FB today with no shortage of posters. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll be back out there and shooting some serious photos of some serious waves here in Bali Indonesia. So stay tuned to the one and only baliwaves, Bali’s original surf report website since back in 1999.
I’ve also had a heads up that our web cam technician has got our Impossible’s Web Cam fired back up so hopefully we’ll have that link back on line for ya’s ASAP so we can watch those lines peeling down the reef.
