BALI / INDONESIA
28th – 29th August 2015
Hello everyone and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the best value for your tropical surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
It’s been pretty hectic here in Bali and especially for us here at home base with non stop waves happening the last week. Here’s another 130+ photos that we have collected while we have been surfing all over the island the last 2 days.
On the 29th we did the pre dawn road trip up the West Coast to Medewi. Arriving just after 7.00AM to see 3-4ft+ waves peeling off for 150mtrs and only a handful of surfers in the water. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with a light off shore wind. The wind did swing light off shore around 10.00AM but the waves were still smooth and fun.
Yesterday the 29th and are wave hunt had us going in the opposite direction down to the Southern end of the island to Balangan. At 7.00AM there were 8 surfers in the water with wave height in the 3-4ft+ sector. Surfing conditions as you can see in the photos were at their optimum. After the tide peaked and then started to run out there were some long tube rides going down and maybe even a few bigger sneaker set waves coming through.
Weather wise down on the bukit we had a mostly over cast morning with a few patches of sun shine. But here in Bali and even though it’s winter here you can still get pretty toasted from the UV rays. So remember to keep that sun screen topped up while your in the water.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the bukit, — 1US$=13,850 — 1AU$=9,990 —
I’ve also loaded a new surf report and photos from GG-Land thanks to our friends at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Resort.
Hold onto your hats cause we should also be seeing another new and solid sized swell slamming into Indo in the next 36hrs or so. So stay tuned in right here. You can also keep an eye on our Twitter and Instagram feeds on baliwaves.com through out the day for more up dates.
We’ve also been given a new water proof HD camera the X PRO 1 from TecTecTec to test out. So stay tuned for our new “product review” that’ll be on baliwaves very soon. This HD all sports action camera comes complete with all attachments for helmets, surfboards bikes etc etc plus the water housing for a measly Rp1,500,000.
