BALI / INDONESIA
22nd August 2015
Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping you amped up for your next Indo surf trip since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the always “in season” tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so here’s another 82 photos that we shot over at Keramas on Bali’s East coast yesterday morning. As it shows wave height was in the 2-4ft class and even though the wind was blowing on shore out of the SE surfing conditions were still clean enough for a paddle.
This morning the 22nd and after our 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was only showing 1-2ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with a light NNW wind. We decided to take another run back over to Keramas to hopefully get a repeat of yesterday’s waves and conditions. Arriving at 8.45AM at Keramas to find wave height to have backed off down into the 1-2ft class but with still clean and glassy surfing conditions. As the tide pushed in wave height did creep up a touch but no where near yesterdays conditions.
By 10.30AM we were feeling the SE Trade wind in the form of a fresh on shore wind at Keramas. Crowd wise it peaked at 17 surfers, so at least it wasn’t packed out.
Weather wise it was hot and sunny over on the East Coast and right now at 4.15PM the temperature is still sitting on a warm 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 79%. Wind direction is outta the SE at 14mph. (weather info from Ngurah-Rai Airport here in Tuban Bali).
Hopefully tomorrow will bring us a little spike in wave height and then more again on the 24th of August, so stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report website.
I also have to say that baliwaves on Facebook has just clocked up over 110,000 likes, thanks again peeps.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta, — 1US$=Rp13,880 — 1AU$=Rp10,080 — 1GBP=Rp20,950 — 1EU$=Rp15,550 —
Traffic in Kuta, if there was half the amount of taxi’s on the road the traffic would flow normal like. There is almost 1taxi in Bali for every tourist and it’s a traffic jam joke.
