BALI / INDONESIA
31st July – 1st August 2015
Hello everyone and thanks for checking out the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) again today, to see what’s been going down here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so what do you think of this 243 strong photo gallery that we snapped off down at Uluwatu were the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup trials were being run.We arrived a bit late so unfortunately we missed a few of the early heats but we were there till the end and the blow for blow final heat that was really between Agus “Blacky” Setiawan and Mustopa Jeksen, eventually it was Blacky who got the points and earned a ticket into the main event that pretty well is on stand by from today on wards. Surfing conditions at Ulu yesterday were pretty good with non stop barrels all day in the head to double head high class.
This morning the 1st of August and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing some 3-4ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. At the time the tide was still running in and the wind light. But now at 10.55AM the SE Trade wind has well and truly kicked in.
Ketut phoned in from Uluwatu about an hour ago calling wave height still in the heas to double head high range on Temple’s and the Main Peak. He also mentioned there was only around a total of 40 surfers in the water, so I’m sure that’s increased a little bit by now as well.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.0mtr Low at 4.45PM
Weather wise there’s still a lot of cloud around this morning with the odd burst of sun shine. Temperature wise right now it’s 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is currently on 74%. Wind direction is strong outta the E-SE.
