BALI / INDONESIA
27th – 28th September 2015
Hi surfers and thanks for taking the time out to stop by the baliwaves (working through the weekends since back in 1999, and don’t forget if you ain’t got no work Visa don’t try making money illegally in Indonesia) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from all over Bali and Indonesia.
Ok we have had a big weekend here at baliwaves. Yesterday the 27th and the crew and I hear at home base were up early and on the road up the West Coast to Balian. Mainly because wave height was pretty small just about everywhere else and Balian is the biggest swell magnet in Indonesia hands down. As it shows in the first half of today’s photo gallery wave height at Balian was in the chest to well over head high class and maybe even a few sneaker double head high sets. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with an early morning off shore wind. But as expected we were not the only one’s looking for waves and I’d have to say at one stage there would have been around 70 surfers in the water. Most of these were learners so there was plenty of waves to be had.
Today the 28th and we hit the road just as the sun was poking it’s head over the horizon over to the East Coast. And as it shows in the second part of our photo gallery we were pretty lucky (again) and managed to score an empty line up of chest to head high plus waves, with an early morning off shore wind and no other surfers in sight. My crew were straight out there and we were joined by one other mellow local surfer. Three and a half hours later the boys were paddled out after catching a hundred waves each.
Weather wise this weekend it’s been faultless with loads of blue sky and sun shine. Right now at 4.20PM there is some cloud moving in but no threat of rain just yet. The wind is cranking out of the SE at 15knot+
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, — 1US$=Rp14,580 — 1AU$=Rp10,220 — And what ever you do when your changing dollars over to Rupiah here in Bali make sure you stick to the big open money changers that offer “no commission”. Never walk into a small dingy lane that might be advertising a higher than normal rate because they will rip you off. I don’t know why the Balinese / Police have not removed all the dodgey money changers that constantly try to scam tourists ?
Ok peeps stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report website cause we’ll be out there again tomorrow doing our thing.
