BALI / INDONESIA
4th October 2015
Hello everyone and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the place any surfer would rather be, Bali.
Ok so we’ve had a huge day today, starting out with our mandatory surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban. At 6.20AM there was no shortage of new swell between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. At the time the tide was still running out, the wind was already off shore. No surfers in the water with wave height in the 5-8ft class.
From there we took a run down to Balangan beach and watched a few waves peel off from up in the car park. Wave height at Balangan was also in the solid 5-8ft class and only 4-5 surfers in the water catching some long rides. The paddle out did look a bit tricky though.
Our next stop was at Padang Padang to see if there was enough size for this mechanical tube machine to produce the goods. At 10.00AM there was a few waves barreling off but at the time it wasn’t really doing it’s thing. Wave height was in the 4-5ft+ range with a strong off shore wind, we counted 26 surfers in the water while we were on the scene.
Finally we made our way down to Uluwatu where we knew the lions share of this swell would be unloading. And there were some solid and clean waves hitting the Bombie in the I’d have to say 6-10ft+ region. There were also a few brave dare devils paddling into some monsters and getting so deep in the barrel (see photos). The Outside Racetrack also had some waves peeling off in the 6-10ft range as well while the tide was still low enough. All up there would have only been maybe 10 surfers in the water at Uluwatu in today’s swell.
Weather wise we have had a mainly hot and sunny Sunday here in Bali with the midday temperature leveling off at 30 degree’s Celsius. What else would you want on a Sunday.

Ok friends of Bali we hope your having a good one too where ever you might be and make sure you tune in again tomorrow for the start of yet another surfing week here on the “island of the Gods”
