BALI / INDONESIA
18th December 2015
Hi folks and welcome back to your baliwaves (Keeping you up to date with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the Worlds No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination that’s got something for everyone, Bali.
Ok not much had changed swell wise on the Outer Reefs of Tuban over night, wave height was basically still in the 1ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The only really change was that in stead of clean and glassy conditions there was a 15knot Westerly wind ripping into it.
So as it shows in today’s fresh photo gallery we ducked over to Serangan on Bali’s East Coast to find some shelter from the wind, and hopefully some waves right. Arriving at 9.00AM to see 2-2ft+ waves breaking with the Westerly wind blowing pretty well straight off shore. There were around 15 surfers in the water and a couple of fun little waves. But as the tide filled in the surf schools were turning up in droves with soft tops stacked on the roofs. No worries cause we’d already had a good 3hr session and were happy to pack it in and go get some lunch. By the time we did pack up the sets started to get a little bigger but with around 100 learners pin balling off each other.
Weather wise it was a real summery day here on the “island of the God’s”. Staring off with part cloudy conditions before rain squalls and more cloud. Right now at 6.15PM the clouds are looking loaded and ready to drop some rain on us tonight for sure. The wind is still cranking out of the W-WSW up to 18 – 20knot.
Ok the charts are calling for some more power in the ocean tomorrow so it will be interesting to see just how big it gets. Stay tuned cause we’ll be out there on location somewhere just after sun up and will give ya’s a heads up via Twitter etc (maybe… he he he)
