BALI / INDONESIA
16th – 17th December 2015
Hello surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the best value for your hard earned tropical surfing holiday dollars called Bali.
Hey crew how ya’s doing today, ok so here’s a hand full of photos that Ketut and the boys brought us back from Balian yesterday. First off let me just tell ya’s that Balian is the swell magnet for Indonesia. Usually this location picks up more swell that Uluwatu or G-Land, but the problem is it can’t handle a big swell. So if Ketut’s photos were only showing waist to head high waves at Balian well then you know it’s small right through out Indonesia, let alone Bali.
Ketut and the boys were on the scene at Balian just as the sun was rising up and were pretty keen to get out there into a totally empty line up. The boys said the crowd did pick up to around 18 surfers at one stage. Surfing conditions stayed clean and glassy through until around 10.00AM. As we can see in the photos weather wise up the coast it was also pretty ordinary.
This morning the 18th and our 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban wasn’t showing anything breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide at the time was still running out and the wind light out of the WNW. So it looks like we’ll wait for the tide to start pushing back in before we head out on a mission to find some waves.
Hopefully we’ll see some relief from these small waves over the coming weekend, fingers crossed right.
Weather wise outside right now at 7.15AM we have a mainly overcast sky and it looks like a very high possibility of some rain down towards the Southern end of the island for sure. Temperature wise the mercury is on 27 degree’s Celsius and the wind is coming out of the WNW @ 5-8knot.
