Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping you connected to Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
We were up pretty early again this morning intent on heading over to the East Coast to see if we could find some waves with out too surfers around. So our first stop was at.. Secrets to find no surfers in sight but with wave height only in the 1-2ft range with the wind blowing cross shore. There also looked like there has been a lot of sand gone off the beach and messing up the usual tidy banks.
From there we thought we might as well take a look at Keramas just in case the usual crowds had subsided. We watched and waited for 10 minutes but didn’t see any waves break for the 20 odd surfers that were sitting in the line up, also waiting. Wind direction at Keramas was also a light cross shore. We couldn’t also help but notice that there is so much more development happening in the area, but the waves are still the same when it does break you just have to be prepared for over crowding in the water.
So with plenty of East in the wind it was a no brainer for us to make a bee line down to Bali’s premier surfing location where I knew we would score the waves, Uluwatu. At 8.15AM after 2.25hrs on the road it was a welcomed relief to see clean waves in the head to well over head high class breaking on the Main Peak and Temple sections. The tide was running out and even though wave height kept trying to pulse through a little bigger, delivering some double to double head high plus set waves. As it shows in our photo gallery from today there was also a few nice tube rides running down the Racetrack as the tide did get lower.
Weather wise it’s been another absolute beauty here in Bali, temperature wise the mercury peaked at around 35 degree’s Celsius. Around 3.30PM this afternoon we did get maybe 5 minutes worth of light rain before clearing away for more blue sky and sun shine.
Ok friends tomorrow is another day and we are going to be back out there on the wave trail looking for the best waves to get into. Stay tuned to our social media (Twitter and Instagram) for up dates through out the day.
