BALI / INDONESIA
18th – 19th January 2016
Hello everyone and a big thanks for tuning into the baliwaves (The one and only baliwaves since 1999, watch out for imitations bahahaha) for the latest news and our best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so here’s a collection of photos that we shot over the last two days covering a few miles in the process from Balian way up the West Coast and back down to Canggu also here on Bali’s West side. The early mornings has seen the best waves and the best surfing conditions and we have been all over em. The secret is knowing when and where to go over here with tide’s wind and swell direction. Not too forget the most important element, swell. Anyway check out the photos, if you haven’t already. Hopefully and fingers crossed we might see the start of a little pulse in wave height tomorrow morning. Yep we’ll be out there on the wave hunt again so stay tuned to the original Bali surf report ok.
Weather wise today it’s been just another hot and sunny day here on the holiday island. Temperature wise outside right now the mercury is on 35 degree’s Celsius (3.30PM). Earlier this morning the wind was coming out of the NE through until 9.30AM when she shifted to the West. Now it has gone all the way around to the South and might even come back to the SSE later this afternoon.
This is my 21st summer in Bali and these weather patterns that we have been seeing this month are actually normal. Every year sometime between late December and mid January the wind always does a switch back to the SE and gives us a nice little break. The longest I’ve seen this weather cycle run for is 18 days, 2016 has just gone 19 days. Hopefully we might even get a few more days of this stuff before the W-SW-S winds and rain start hammering us and have no choice but to hit the East Coast, so enjoy the variety while it lasts.
